Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the rental and/or purchase of props (“Items”) from The Stuff You Don’t Need Prop Rentals (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By renting or purchasing Items from us, the client (“Renter,” “you,” or “your”) agrees to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & Identification
All rentals require a signed Rental Agreement and valid government-issued photo identification (driver’s license, passport, or equivalent).
The individual signing is deemed the authorized representative of the production, studio, or company and is responsible for all obligations under this Agreement.
2. Rental Periods & Extensions
Rentals are charged on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Extensions must be requested in writing at least 3 business days before the scheduled return date and are subject to availability.
Unauthorized extensions or late returns will incur late fees (see Section 3).
3. Late Returns
Late fees are charged at 35% of the Item’s full replacement value per day.
After 7 days overdue, the Item will be considered lost, and the Renter will be invoiced for the full replacement value plus any accumulated late fees.
4. Payments & Deposits
Full payment is required before Items are released.
We reserve the right to require a security deposit (refundable if Items are returned on time and in good condition).
All overdue invoices are subject to 2% monthly interest (24% annually).
5. Cancellations
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled pick-up or shipping date will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
If Items have already shipped, the Renter is responsible for:
Return shipping fees, and
The 50% cancellation fee.
6. Care, Loss & Damage
All Items are one-of-a-kind and must be handled with care.
Renter assumes full responsibility from the time of pick-up/delivery until Items are returned and checked by us.
Renter must notify us immediately in writing if Items are lost, stolen, or damaged.
In the event of loss or irreparable damage, the Renter will be charged the full replacement value of the Item(s).
Repairable damage will be billed at actual repair costs plus administrative fees.
7. Shipping & Returns
Within Canada:
If shipped on our account: Renter pays all shipping fees.
If shipped on Renter’s account: Renter pays all fees and must provide tracking numbers.
International:
If shipped on our account: Renter pays all shipping fees, duties, and taxes.
If shipped on Renter’s account: Renter pays all shipping, duties, taxes, and must provide tracking numbers.
All Items must be returned in their original packaging (or equivalent protective packaging).
8. Title & Ownership
All rented Items remain the exclusive property of The Stuff You Don’t Need Prop Rentals.
Nothing in this Agreement transfers ownership unless the Item is explicitly purchased.
9. Sales
Purchased Items are final sale with no refunds or exchanges.
10. Liability & Indemnity
The Company is not liable for any injury, loss, damage, or claims arising from the use of rented Items.
Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its employees, and affiliates from any claims, costs, or damages arising from the rental, handling, transport, or use of Items.
11. Insurance
For high-value rentals, we may require proof of production insurance naming The Stuff You Don’t Need Prop Rentals as Loss Payee and/or Additional Insured for the replacement value of Items.
12. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of Quebec, Canada.
Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Montreal, Quebec.
13. Amendments
The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website and apply to all future rentals.
